The new Fish, Wildlife & Parks approved firearm safety course is live and qualifies under the concealed carry law. The new course meets the statutory training requirement under 45-8-321(3)(b) to qualify the graduate to apply for a concealed carry permit.
This course does not replace hunter education as a qualifier, it is just an additional qualifying course. Like the FWP hunter education course, the new course is on-line only; however, it is specific to Montana and the concealed carry requirements in our state. Students must be at least 18-years-old to take the course and upon successful completion are issued a certificate of completion.
